| Q. Recent Flooding has caused contamination or our building by petrol, diesel or heating oil. How do we detect it? |
A. Flooding often creates a need to detect the spillage of Petrol, Diesel, Fuel and Heating Oils which cause contamination of land (soil), water and buildings. Using a PID (Photo Ionisation Detector) allows for the immediate and reliable detection and screening of these contaminants. These are available for purchase or short-term hire. PIDs are simple to use, highly sensitive, portable instruments which enable rapid assessment of degree and extent of contamination. Simple guidance and how to use these instruments is available.
