What voltage does my instrument need to charge?
Answer: Shawcity recommends that you use only the provided charger.
When I charge my instrument the display doesn't indicate it's charging?
Answer: If the instrument is in use (i.e. in operation) the screen will not charge. If the instrument is switched off then a charging screen must be displayed. If not, remove the charging plug from the instrument, then re-connect and ensure the display shows a charging screen. If not then repeat once more. Return the instrument to us if this fails.
How long should I leave my instrument on to charge?
Answer: The PhoCheck, PhoCheck+, FirstCheck and FirstCheck+ instruments have smart charging sockets on the PCB and can therefore be left to charge continuously without causing any damage to the instrument or re-chargeable battery pack. If the instrument is left to charge over-night a full working day (8 hours) is expected from your instrument. Please note this time is reduced if the back-light is constantly on.
Ensure PhoCheck Tiger is charged for at least 7 hours before using it for the first time. To ensure optimum charging the TIGER should be switched off during charging. If left on, the TIGER will take longer to charge, but should not suffer any damage. The TIGER should be charged in a non hazardous environment only.
Ensure that you read your user manual for charging times for all instruments. the user manual can be foudn on the product page you are looking for in the downloadssection on the right hand side of the page.
