A huge well done to Team Shawcity who battled through the wind, rain and snow to complete the Spring Monster Race, raising money for Oxfordshire-based SpecialEffect.
Based at Cornbury Park, near Charlbury in Oxfordshire the 5K course was set to test the team’s agility and teamwork skills as they crawled, climbed, jumped and slid their way across 25 challenging obstacles through a tough, muddy terrain of woodland, hill climbs, rivers and bogs.
All 10 Shawcity team members completed the gruelling course, knowing that their hard work was not only for fun but also supporting the local charity, helped spur the team on through the toughest of obstacles.
Team Shawcity were lucky enough to run as part of a group of 160 supporting Oxfordshire-based SpecialEffect. The charity works alongside a team of therapists and technology specialists who adapt hardware and software to work with individual disabilities. Technology can include eye-controlled software or specially-designed controls or keyboards to enable individuals to access technology.
The team has set a target to raise £2,000 by completing the Monster Race and taking part in Twin Town 16 from 27th – 30th May, where 100 cars will be leaving Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire and travelling to Witney’s twin town Le Touquet in France completing challenges along the way.
