The Oxford Business Network kindly adopted SpecialEffect as its supported charity for its 2015 Christmas Charity Breakfast, which will took place on Friday 4th December 7.45-10.00am, with Olympic gold medal winner Tim Foster OBE as guest speaker. The event was sponsored by ShawCity Ltd so that every penny of donations went to support the life-changing work of SpecialEffect. The event was hosted by Blake Morgan in Oxford with Barclays staff volunteering and raised over £1,500.
There was the chance to try some of the life-changing eye control technology that the charity uses to help people with disabilities. Other activities included a business card raffle to win some fantastic prizes, not to mention the opportunity to find out more about the 2016 Twin Town challenge, where teams sign up to join a four-day adventure driving from Witney to its twin town Le Touquet and home again, with twelve amusing challenges en route (http://www.twintown16.co.uk/).
The highlight, undoubtedly, was the talk given by Tim. The audience were treated to an amusing and fascinating insight into the life of an Olympic champion as Tim gave a very honest account of his years rowing in the Team GB squad.
Neil O'Regan, Managing Director of Shawcity and one of SpecialEffect's ambassadors, comments: "Shawcity were delighted to sponsor this unique business networking event and Tim’s Olympic stories were very entertaining. Most importantly though of course, we are so pleased to have more opportunities to support the life-changing work of SpecialEffect with this event and our involvement in the 2016 Twin Town Challenge."
