Jack worked as a chef initially after leaving school but decided it wasn’t the right long-term career for him. Keen to challenge himself, he looked for an opportunity to train in a more technology-based trade and joined Shawcity as a trainee engineer.

He joined the Shawcity team in 2008 from Ion Science Ltd (Head Office) and is responsible for developing both the business in terms of bottom line net profits and the team through personal development. Neil is focused on creating a work environment which promotes self-development and success.
Neil has a busy family life, is a keen golfer and an ambassador for the charity SpecialEffect, whose mission is to achieve inclusion, raised self-esteem and rehabilitation by enabling anyone, regardless of any kind of physical limitation or disability, to be able to use video gaming and leisure technology.

Tracy has overall responsibility for Shawcity’s marketing and communications strategies and oversees all aspects of brand management, image, product/service promotion and market research.
An art school graduate and former graphic designer and creative studio manager, Tracy moved over to the marketing industry and gained a CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing, as well as the Marketing Week Mini MBA.
With 20+ years' experience across online and offline marketing, Tracy has a broad range of knowledge gained from previous experience spanning industries including motorsport, finance and education, with secondment positions undertaken across Europe.
Customer Service Manager

An avid cyclist and a fan of the water, Ben spends his spare time either out on his bike, on a paddleboard or sailing down the broads in a dinghy.

Chris joined Shawcity with technical consultation experience in the manufacturing, mechanical engineering and environmental sectors, specialising in problematic applications.
Based in Lancashire, Chris looks after our customers in the North of England and Scotland. He has a passion for mountaineering, photography, making short films and snowboarding.

Based in the East Anglia region, Elliot looks after our customers in the East and South East of England and London.
Elliot joined Shawcity from gas detection specialist manufacturer Ion Science in Cambridge where he worked in Production, Service and Internal Sales Support roles. He has extensive knowledge of PID technology and gas detection instrumentation.
In his spare time Elliot enjoys sport including playing golf and football, motocross riding and skiing.

James joined Shawcity with experience in safety equipment solutions for Oil & Gas, Maritime and Renewable sectors.
Based in Devon, James looks after our customers in the South West of England, Wales and Ireland.
He has a passion for sailing and water sports.

Nathan joined Shawcity with over 20 years’ experience within the electronic security industry. Nathan has a vast array of experience and qualifications in site installation and maintenance, as well as sales.
Based at the Shawcity office, Nathan oversees all aspects of Fixed Gas Detection nationwide and works closely with our Product Specialist Managers and our site team to ensure projects are delivered exactly to specification and client requirements.
In his spare time Nathan has a number of varied interests including photography, VWs and is a keen supporter of Liverpool FC.

Trainee Fixed Gas Service Engineer

Jack has progressed from the in-house service team and is now training as a fixed gas system service engineer.

James is our Trainee Installation Engineer and joined the Shawcity team with existing experience in the fixed and portable gas industry as a Service Engineer.
James is part of our busy Fixed Gas Installation team and works on customer sites across the country, covering a wide range of industries.
In his spare time James is an avid fan of sports, keen golfer and an ex-rugby player. He also loves country music and seeing his friends.
Hire Engineer
A work placement at a power station sparked Ben’s interest in chemical engineering at an early age. When he left school he initially pursued his other love of sport and worked for some years as a personal trainer.
However, Ben never lost the desire for an engineering career which would offer him more of a mental challenge and structure, which is why he took the opportunity to join the Shawcity team.
In his spare time, Ben still enjoys going to the gym as well as various styles of martial arts training. He also has a passion for writing and recording music.
Service Engineer
Possessing a broad range of skills, Freya enjoys repairing, servicing, and calibrating a variety of equipment and taking on new challenges every day with a strong analytical approach and pride in being extremely thorough.
Freya was originally based in our admin department but with a background including motor vehicle qualifications and working in garages, she knew she would enjoy the challenge of a hands-on technical role when the opportunity presented itself.
In her spare time, Freya enjoys music events, vintage kilo sales and anything car related. Freya also manages the social media for a local car group, arranging events and attending car shows on a regular basis.
Service Engineer
Joe’s role in the Service Department includes working on instrument servicing and calibration as well as repairs and fault-finding.
When he joined Shawcity, Joe was looking to establish a career and learn a hands-on trade which would offer him progression. His role as a Junior Engineer provides him with the challenge and opportunities he was looking for.
In his spare time, Joe likes to play golf, watch football, go to music events and socialise with friends.

Having a diverse set of skills, Dan's responsibilities in the Service Department include instrument service, calibration, repairs, and fault-finding.
Prior to joining Shawcity, Dan had worked in multiple industries. From being a manager of a power tool company and comic book shop, to working in the TV and Film industry for 7 years, appearing in everything from Eastenders to the Dark Knight!
When he joined Shawcity, Dan was looking for a new challenge and expansion in his skills. He believes no two days are the same and each job brings its own new challenges.
Purchasing Controller (Maternity Cover)
With over 18 years' Sales Administration experience in the electronics industry, Silvia decided to pursue a change of career and joined the Shawcity team as our QA Administrator before moving across to become our Purchasing Controller to cover Veronika's maternity leave.
In her spare time Silvia likes to travel, go to the gym and enjoys time with family and friends.
Shipping & Warehouse
Paul controls all goods-in and goods-out for Shawcity. Paul joined the Shawcity team with a huge range of skills, having previously worked in various roles within the logistics and warehousing industry.

Paul ensures all activities in the warehouse run smoothly and works closely with the sales team to ensure customer orders are fulfilled. He joined Shawcity bringing more than twenty years of warehouse supervision experience with him to the role, including over 20 years with Tyco Electronics.
Paul is a family man and has two sons; one working as a vet and one who owns a carpet and flooring business. Paul and his wife currently have five grandchildren.

Vern ikaworks as Shawcity's Purchasing Controller and is responsible for managing relationships with our suppliers and helping to ensure we deliver the best possible value to our customers. She has also previously held roles within Sales Support and Service Development.
Veronika enjoys travelling and hiking with family and friends, agility training with her dogs, socialising and poetry. In her spare time, Veronika is studying towards a Foundation Degree in interior design.
Technical Support
William looks after Technical Support for Shawcity and is the go-to person for any product technical issues or queries. William has previous experience working in service and support departments for a number of companies across various industries.
In his personal life, William is a keen computer gamer and is currently learning the piano.
QA Controller
Gurm's role within Shawcity is overall responsibility for all quality-related issues as the Quality Assurance Controller.
He joined the business with 20 years’ experience working in Automotive Manufacturing within the Quality Design and Development Division and holds a CQI Level 5 Diploma in Quality Management Systems.
Outside of work, Gurm likes to stay fit by cycling, going running and playing football. He likes to socialise and travel but his main hobby is DJing.
